W. Gardner Wallace
W. Gardner Wallace is Chairman of GID. Mr. Wallace is a member of the Executive
Committee. He is also responsible for overseeing residential operations, real
estate development, and opportunities in GID’s other activities.
From 1986 through 1997, Mr. Wallace was in the acquisitions group of GID, most
recently as Senior Vice President. He had direct acquisition responsibility for
many of the properties acquired for Windsor Realty Fund-I, GID’s first
co-investment joint venture. Prior to joining the acquisitions group, Mr.
Wallace was involved in the Company’s property operations (serving twice as
Senior Vice President), real estate development and non-real estate investment
activities. Mr. Wallace graduated from Princeton University with a BA in
Economics in 1982 and joined GID that same year.
Robert E. DeWitt
Robert E. DeWitt is Vice Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr.
DeWitt is a member of the Executive Committee of GID. He oversees corporate
strategy development, new client/equity partner sourcing and procurement,
property acquisitions and dispositions, client relations and overall management
of the company. As such, he is responsible for the overall administration
of the activities of the Windsor Realty Funds, GID's equity co-investment
programs, including directing real estate acquisitions, dispositions, portfolio
management, and partner communications.
Mr. DeWitt was previously Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Chief
Investment Officer. He joined GID as Vice President of Acquisitions in 1987.
From 1982 through 1987, he was Vice President of Acquisitions at Winthrop
Financial Associates, a major Boston-based national real estate investment
banking and syndication firm. Mr. DeWitt received an MBA from The Amos Tuck
School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College in 1982 and a BA from
Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont, in 1978.
Mr. DeWitt is on the Board of Directors of the National Multi-Housing Council,
a member of the Pension Real Estate Association, and a council member of the
Urban Land Institute.
Brian T. O’Herlihy
Brian T. O’Herlihy is Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and is a member of the Executive Committee. Brian joined GID in October 2008 and has overall responsibility for GID’s financial, investment, accounting, tax, administrative, human resources and information technology areas. Prior to joining GID, he most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Colliers Meredith & Grew, a Boston-based full-service commercial real estate firm providing brokerage, mortgage finance, property & asset management, appraisal, advisory, development and project management services to real estate clients within the Greater Boston area, as well as nationally and internationally through its affiliation with Colliers International. Prior to Brian's 13-year tenure at Colliers Meredith & Grew, he served as a Managing Director at Boston-based Winthrop Financial Associates, a diversified real estate investment, management and services firm, where he worked for eleven years. He began his career as a tax manager at Price Waterhouse, the precursor firm to PricewaterhouseCoopers. Brian is a 1976 graduate of the University of Notre Dame where he earned a B.B.A. in Accounting. He is currently a member of the American Institute and Connecticut Society of CPA’s.
Jeffrey A. Harris
Jeffrey A. Harris is Senior Vice President and President of Windsor Management
Co., and a member of GID's Executive Committee. He directs the activities of
GID’s Property Operations Group and participates in the formulation of GID’s
short and long-term strategic goals and objectives. Prior to joining GID in
August 2001, Mr. Harris was President and Chief Operating Officer of Post
Properties, Inc., an Atlanta-based $2.5 billion, national multifamily real
estate investment trust. Post is a fully integrated organization with
multifamily development, acquisition, operation and asset management expertise.
The company has over 2,000 employees.
From 1995 – 1999, Mr. Harris held the position of President, Post
Apartment Management. In that capacity, Mr. Harris was primarily responsible
for directing the company’s property management activities for Post’s
32,000-unit portfolio, inclusive of training and development, human resources,
corporate suites and the landscaping companies. He also was responsible for
overseeing RAM Partners, Inc., Post’s third-party fee management affiliate that
manages 15,700 apartment homes owned by third parties. Mr. Harris joined Post
Properties in 1984 upon graduation from The Amos Tuck School of Business
Administration at Dartmouth College with a Masters in Business Administration.
He graduated from Davidson College in 1980 with an A.B. in Economics, Cum
Laude.
William H. Roberts
William H. Roberts is Senior Vice President of Portfolio and Asset Management
for GID and a member of the Executive Committee. Mr. Roberts is primarily
responsible for the portfolio and asset management of GID’s apartment, office
and flex/industrial portfolio as well as GID’s co-investment joint ventures
with CalPERS, CalSTRS and DuPont Pension Fund. He has primary responsibility
for managing GID’s relationships with its pension fund partners.
From 1995 through 1997, Mr. Roberts managed the acquisition activity for
Windsor Realty Fund-II L.P., GID’s suburban office property investment program
through which 3.4 million square feet were acquired in fourteen transactions,
over a nineteen-month period of time. From 1980-1995, Mr. Roberts was a
Managing Director and Principal involved in acquisitions, asset management and
capital markets activity at Winthrop Financial Associates in Boston. Prior
experience includes Investment Officer at New England Life (1975-1980) and
Mortgage Officer at The Rouse Company (1973-1975). Mr. Roberts graduated with
an MBA from Washington University (St. Louis, Missouri) in 1973 and with a BA
from Lake Forest College in 1971. Mr. Roberts is a member of the Urban Land
Institute and a member of its Multifamily Residential Council. He is a former
Trustee and member of the Executive Committee of the Keewaydin Foundation.
Robert D. Fessler
Robert D. Fessler is President of the Flex Industrial Group, Senior Vice
President of GID and a member of GID's Executive Committee. Mr. Fessler is
principally responsible for directing the activities of the Flex Industrial
Group. Prior to joining GID in May 2006, Mr. Fessler was Regional Executive
Vice President of Duke Realty Corp., an Indianapolis-based $5.1 billion
national industrial and office property real estate investment trust. Duke is a
fully integrated organization with industrial and office development,
acquisition, construction, property management and asset management expertise.
From 2003-2005, Mr. Fessler held the position of Regional Executive Vice
President of Duke's Atlanta Region. In that capacity, Mr. Fessler was primarily
responsible for the leasing, management, acquisition, development and
disposition activities for the region's 31 million square feet of industrial
and office properties with a market value of over $2.7 billion. Mr. Fessler's
region contained more than 400 employees. Prior to that, Mr. Fessler opened,
developed and ran Duke's Cincinnati office, which at one point grew to more
than 15 million square feet of office, flex industrial and bulk warehouse
space. Mr. Fessler began his career at GE Capital and was a leasing agent for
Trammell Crow prior to joining Duke in 1987. Mr. Fessler graduated from Notre
Dame in 1980, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Accounting.
Robert T. Karp
Robert T. Karp is Senior Vice President of the Flex Industrial Group and a
member of GID's Executive Committee. Since joining GID in 1973, Mr. Karp
has been responsible for the development of a wide range of commercial and
residential properties. In addition to Southport Business Park in Raleigh
and Windsor Business Park in Richmond, he has directed development of historic
office renovations and a mixed-use property in downtown Boston with high-rise
office and specialty retail. Mr. Karp served on the Department of Defense
Task Force on Military Housing in 1997. He is a full member of Urban Land
Institute and is a member of NAIOP's Business Parks forum. He
graduated with a BA from Harvard College in 1961 and with an MPA in Urban
Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh in 1964.
