GID INVESTMENT ADVISERS LLC ENTERS INTO JOINT VENTURE TO DEVELOP FLEX/INDUSTRIAL IN JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA

Boston - (February 8, 2006) - GID Investment Advisers LLC (a division of The General Investment & Development Companies) announced today that it purchased 86 acres within Jacksonville International Tradeport in a joint venture with the Jackson-Shaw Company with headquarters in Dallas, TX. The 86 acres consist of seven separate parcels and the development will include approximately 650,000 square feet of light distribution and flex space as well as pad sites for hotels and restaurants.

The development parcels are located within the highly regarded Jacksonville International Tradeport development where a Jackson-Shaw partnership purchased 994,000 square feet of existing product in a separate and concurrent transaction.

Bob Karp who directs GID’s flex/industrial activities commented “it is rare to find the availability of such significant acreage for development in an established park which is less than five minutes from the airport and I-95. We feel fortunate to have this opportunity to participate in Jacksonville’s growth which will be enhanced by a significant expansion in the City’s port facilities”.

Jacksonville International Tradeport will be GID’s second joint venture with the Jackson-Shaw Company following the development of Vista Point II in Dallas (Coppell), Texas. GID is committed to strong growth in its flex/industrial program in which it has extensive management and development experience for over 15 years.

The growth will occur in a combination of GID’s own developments (such as Richmond and Raleigh), joint venture development (such as Dallas and Jacksonville) and acquisitions such as Gwinnett Park in Atlanta, Kensington Business Center in Chicago, and Century Center in Memphis.
