GID INVESTMENT ADVISERS LLC (“GID”) ACQUIRES 188-UNIT STERLING AT THE PARK IN ATLANTA
Boston - (May 10, 2007) -
GID Investment Advisers LLC (“GID”) announced today that it has acquired the 188-unit Sterling at the Park luxury apartment community. The community, which will be renamed Windsor at Midtown, is located in the Midtown section of Atlanta, Georgia. The asset is located in close proximity to the Midtown office market with over 16 million square feet of office space allowing many residents the ability to walk to work. The property also boasts convenient access to cultural attractions such as the High Museum of Art, Woodruff Arts Center and the site of Atlanta’s new Symphony Hall- the Southeast’s premier facility for the arts. In addition to proximity to major employers, transportation arteries, and MARTA stations, the property is half a block west of Piedmont Park, in-town Atlanta’s greatest amenity. The five-story property was constructed in 2001 and sits atop a two-level parking structure that includes 390 parking spaces, all of which are within secured access areas. Amenities of this community include a fitness center, business center with internet access, a swimming pool with a sundeck area, and an exquisitely landscaped courtyard with a fountain. Apartment amenities include nine and ten-foot ceilings with trey details, large walk-in closets, private terraces & verandas, spacious gourmet kitchens, and oversized garden bathtubs. Bill Chiasson, Vice President of Real Estate Acquisitions for GID commented, “Atlanta continues to be high on our list of target markets due to the strong fundamentals exhibited. This well-built, superbly located, class A asset represents an excellent opportunity to increase our depth of exposure to this market. We believe that the continued emergence of Midtown Atlanta into a dynamic live-work-play center will only enhance Windsor at Midtown’s ability to offer residents in-town apartment living at an exceptional location.”
